Exhibition “In honour of Charles IV”

As a result of the long-standing and close relationship between Paul Wurth and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Luxembourg, Paul Wurth is honoured to sponsor an exhibition of bronzes by the Czech sculptor Igor Kitzberger held from 30 June to 21 August at the Centre Culturel de Rencontre Abbaye de Neumünster in Luxembourg.

Most of the slender and fine bronzes represent Charles IV (1316-1378), second King of Bohemia from the House of Luxembourg, Holy Roman Emperor and Count of Luxembourg, whose 700th birthday is being celebrated this year and who elevated the county of Luxembourg to the rank of duchy.

During the exhibition vernissage on 29 June 2016 in presence of His Excellency Petr Kubernát, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Luxembourg, Honorary Consul Iva Mrazkova and the artist Igor Kitzberger, Paul Wurth’s CEO Georges Rassel drew very interesting parallels between the personality of King Charles IV and the Paul Wurth Group. Among others, he pointed out the pan-European and global attitude of the King, his interest in innovation, research and science with the foundation of the Charles University in Prague, the first university in Central Europe, and his patronage for many building activities, such as the Charles bridge and high gothic Prague castle. Of course, Georges Rassel also mentioned Paul Wurth’s activities in the Czech Republic, especially the office Paul Wurth has been operating since 2000 in Ostrava.
