2011 Student Technology Fair

Discovering the world of engineering

For the second time, Paul Wurth organised on 14 Octobre 2011 a ? Student Technology Fair ? in its former workshop in Luxembourg, in which participated about 250 students from higher education schools as well as final-year-classes from different secondary schools in Luxembourg.

At different exhibition stands and through presentations, students from the University of Luxembourg, Fachhochschule Trier and the RWTH Aachen University as well as pupils from the Lycée technique d’Esch-sur-Alzette, Lycée technique des Arts et Métiers, Lycée technique d’Ettelbrück and Lycée technique privé Emile Metz, accompanied by their teachers, could learn more about the latest technologies and developments in the portfolio of the global leader in ironmaking technologies.

Different technical presentations, showing of example the operation of a blast furnace and environmental protection issues in metallurgy, offered the young people an insight in the technologies and innovations in the field of engineering in general, and especially in iron – and steelmaking.

The Paul Wurth specialists were there to present the pupils and students all aspects and demands of the job as an engineer and to inform them about the potential career opportunities that technology and science courses offer in the industrial sector.
